The Council of The Village of Grand Rapids convened in regular session from 7:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the Grand Rapids Town Hall. Council President John Berry called the meeting to order with the following members and visitors present:

Bill Hutchison - Present  Linda Hall - Present
Carolyn Erdody - Present  Sara Lewis - excused
Curt Williams - excused John Berry - Present
Mayor Kiefer - excused

EMPLOYEES: Chad Hoffman, Karen Rader

VISITORS: Abigail Ball

MINUTES:
Erdody made a motion, seconded by Hutchison to approve the Minutes of the June 14, 2010 meeting as submitted.

Votes were: Hutchison - yes Hall - yes
Erdody - yes Berry - yes  

 Minutes Approved

BILLS:
Erdody made a motion, seconded by Williams, to pay the bills from June 15 through June 28, 2010.

Votes were: Hall - yes Erdody - yes
Berry - yes Hutchison - yes  

Bills Approved

INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS:
Abigail Ball from the Toledo Area Humane Society was present for the 2010 Mutt Strut Application for Use of Public Property. The Humane Society will be providing doggie bags and they will not be charging for participation. The Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the event.

A registration table can be set up to the west of the foot bridge at Howard Park along the chain link fence.

Hutchison made a motion, seconded by Hall, to allow the Toledo Area Humane Society to have a Mutt Strut on September 11 from 10 am thru 3 pm with the Humane Society providing insurance for the event.

ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT:
The Administrator gave his report. A copy will be attached to the original minutes.
Paul's Refuse suggested the two entities involved in Rally's Days could have a truck left for the week-end.

There has been a complaint regarding weeds in the back of The Shambles.

COMMITTEES:
Buildings, Parks, Properties & Maintenance Committee:
Hutchison recapped the 15th meeting. Williams will present his recommendations at the next meeting.

Erdody made a motion, seconded by Hutchison, to proceed with the installation of a split rail fence at the Bluebell area.

Hall - yes Erdody - yes

Safety & Welfare Committee:
Berry gave his report from the July 15th meeting.

Erdody made a motion, seconded by Hutchison, to accept the recommendation of the Safety & Welfare Committee on unsightly material in yards.

Erdody - yes Berry - yes  

 Motion Approved


Erdody made a request that the date be put on the Parks meeting.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Erdody advised that there is a Town Hall Board of Control meeting to be held July 28th at 7:00 pm at the Town Hall. Hoffman requested the 2008 & 2009 itemized expenses from Town Hall fund from the Township. Erdody will get them.

Community Garage Sale is August 14th or 15th from 9 am to 5 pm. Registration is July 30th thru August 8th at Olde Gilead.

The meeting was adjourned. The next scheduled meeting is August 9, 2010 at 7:30 P.M. at the Grand Rapids Town Hall.
