RESOLUTION DECLARING THE AMOUNT OF TAXES THAT MAY BE RAISED BY LEVY AT THE MAXIMUM RATE AUTHORIZED BY LAW WITHOUT A VOTE OF THE ELECTORS TO BE INSUFFICIENT, AND DECLARING THE NECESSITY OF A RENEWAL LEVY IN EXCESS OF SUCH RATE OF 2.0 MILLS FOR GENERAL CONSTRUCTION, RECONSTRUCTION, RESURFACING, AND REPAIRS OF STREETS AND BRIDGES IN THE VILLAGE OF GRAND RAPIDS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF GRAND RAPIDS:
SECTION 2: That it is necessary to levy taxes for the years 2012, through and including 2016, at the rate for each year of 2.00 mills on each dollar of the tax valuation of the taxable property within the village of Grand Rapids, in excess of the rate authorized by said Revised Code Section 5705.02, and in accordance of the provisions of Section 5705.19.
SECTION 3: That the fiscal officer be, and is hereby
directed to certify a copy of this resolution to the Board of Elections of Wood
County, Ohio, in order that said Board of Elections may make the necessary
arrangements for the submission of such question to the electors of the Village
of Grand Rapids as provided by law, at the primary election to be held on the
first Tuesday in March,
SECTION 4: That the notice of the election in the form of
the ballot to be cast herein shall specify that the herein submitted is a
renewal of an existing tax of 2.00 mills.
